ACT Public Art Opportunities
ACT Public Art is an initiative of the Department of Art Culture and Tourism. ACT Public Art channels the creative energy of the city manifesting it in a range of artwork and artists’ projects that:
* contribute to shaping the city’s visual identity,
* improve the quality of life for all residents, and
* create opportunities for engagement, connectivity and community building.
The program has four trajectories: Landmark Artworks, Public Art Residencies, Temporary Projects, and Civic Infrastructure.
Active ACT Public Art calls to artists are LISTED HERE.

Are you planning to install public art in Providence? Let us know about it!
The Creative Capital is abundant with public artists and organizations eager to propose and install work across the city. All proposed artworks, on both private and public property, must be registered with the Department of Art, Culture and Tourism. ACT staff will then support applicants to connect to any and all appropriate bodies related to their project.
The Art in City Life Commission (INFO HERE) must approve all work proposed for City property or funded in any part with public dollars. Additional boards and commissions may also require review or approval, depending on project goals and site-specificity.
