July 5 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

  • « Yoga for Everybody
  • Bachata/Merengue Dance »
URI Master Gardeners are back! Every* first Saturday, the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center is hosting soil testing courtesy of URI’s master Gardener volunteer program. Bring soil samples for helpful pH testing and learn more about how you can improve your garden’s soil health. URI’s Master Gardeners have a breadth of gardening knowledge. Bring your plant questions to these plant experts and make the most out of the new growing seasons.
This program will happen *every Saturday morning from 10am-1pm (except July and August). Bring your soil samples on March 1, April 5, May 3, June 7, September 6, October 4.

How to take a soil sample:

Soil testing for pH helps:

  • Determine which types of nutrients are available for plants to absorb through their root systems.
  • Ensure optimal plant growth and crop yield by allowing nutrients to be freely available.
  • Encourage proper root development and nutrition distribution.
  • Maintain a healthy amount of microbial activity in the soil.
