International Observe the Moon Night at the Museum in Roger Williams Park

Join the Museum of Natural History and LunaSCOPE for International Observe the Moon Night from 6:30pm-8pm outdoors at the Museum of Natural History in Roger Williams Park! Explore lunar science with Brown University’s lunar scientists, listen to Moon-themed stories, view the Moon through telescopes with Brown University’s Astronomy Club, touch a piece of the Moon, and enjoy an evening hike in Roger Williams Park at 7:30pm. This event is FREE and open to all ages. No registration required! (Pets and Strollers are not permitted. The Museum will be closed during this program.)
Entering Roger Williams Park: Parking is free and available at the Museum. Please note Exit 34-heading south on route 95 will be closed for the rapid replacement of the Elmwood Avenue Bridge. RIDOT strongly suggests that travelers use alternate routes and plan additional time for travel. You may wish to enter Roger Williams Park at Park Avenue, Cranston, or Broad Street, Providence. Please click here for a map of Roger Williams Park. Please use your GPS to determine the best route. IMPORTANT – SOME OF THE ROADWAYS INSIDE ROGER WILLIAMS PARK ARE ONE-WAY. PLEASE OBSERVE ALL TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND SIGNS. When entering the Park please follow the signs that direct you to the MUSEUM.
What is LunaSCOPE?
LunaSCOPE – Lunar Structure, COmposition, and Processes for Exploration – is a groundbreaking initiative led by Brown University DEEPS, on an exciting journey of scientific discovery and exploration. LunaSCOPE is a NASA SSERVI Institute that began in 2023 that brings together a global team of experts to delve into the fascinating world of lunar science and exploration, with an emphasis on supporting a sustained human presence at the Moon.
