David Shein joined the Law Department in the Fall of 2022. His areas of concentration include civil litigation, contract negotiations, and ensuring access to public records. Prior to becoming an Associate City Solicitor, Mr. Shein served in the Rhode Island Office for the Public Defender for twenty years, and represented the indigent accused in the Superior, District, and Family Courts. After law school and before moving to Rhode Island he resided in Connecticut, where he practiced law in a general litigation firm.
Mr. Shein graduated from the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) with a B.S. and received his J.D. from the Quinnipiac University School of Law.
When not in the office Mr. Shein tries to enjoy everything that Providence and Rhode Island can offer.
