On September 14, 2015, Mayor Elorza announced that the City’s sustainability plan, Sustainability Providence, will be updated in the coming year under the new SustainPVD initiative. The updated plan will include a new citywide greenhouse gas reduction goal and will address the impacts of climate change. It will also evaluate current strategies, actions, and metrics to ensure we are on track to meeting the goals.
The Environmental Sustainability Task Force and the Office of Sustainability will be leading efforts on this update. Between September and February, each of the Task Force’s monthly meetings will focus on a different chapter of the Plan. The meeting schedule is as follows:

October 22 – Energy
November 19 – Transportation
December 17 – Food
January 28 – Water
February 25 – Land Use
