PROVIDENCE, RI – Mayor Jorge O. Elorza, Council President John Igliozzi (Ward 7) and the City of Providence’s Department of Public Property today launched a new Providence Infrastructure Project Dashboard, making it more transparent and accessible for Providence residents to track ongoing infrastructure projects citywide. The new online dashboard provides information about recently completed, ongoing and planned construction projects throughout the city.
“As Mayor, I am always looking for opportunities to innovate and to bring our city’s operations into the 21st century,” said Mayor Jorge O. Elorza. “The new Providence Infrastructure Project Dashboard gives residents a real-time view of the status of everything from recreation center and school building renovations to updates of sidewalk reconstruction and public art installations. I hope everyone will follow along, using this new tool to learn about all of the important investments happening throughout the City.”
The dashboard tracks infrastructure investments in seven categories: public works, public property, parks, planning, arts culture and tourism, school buildings and early learning facilities. Information for projects include budgets, design stages, conceptual drawings, construction pictures and project timelines. Users will be able to track project progress, budgets and timelines as projects develop.
“City government can always improve communication and transparency with its residents and taxpayers,” said Council President John Igliozzi. “The dashboard is a great tool to track the progress of so many ongoing and vital investments in our city.”
The dashboard will highlight over $700 million in capital investment projects, which are a direct investment into improving the city’s neighborhoods.
