Your family may not be together when disaster strikes, so it is important to plan: how you will contact one another; how you will get back together; and what you will do in different situations. Tell your neighbors, co-workers, and friends about your plan. Encourage them to make one too.
You can make a plan in four easy steps:
- Have a discussion with your family, friends or households about your shelter plan, the evacuation route, and communications plan.
- Consider the specific needs of your household.
- Fill out a Family Emergency Plan.
- Practice your plan with your family or household.
