On February 22, 2024, Providence launched a Vision Zero program with a goal of eliminating all traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2030. The resolution was passed unanimously by City Council and signed by the Mayor. By February 2025, an updated plan for achieving that goal will be completed. An internal task force and a community advisory group are identified in the policy.
