Providence, RI – The Providence Police Department is in the process of implementing an internal policy regarding the utilization of Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology to capture and store digital license plate data and images while recognizing the established privacy rights of the public.
The Providence Police Department is asking the public to share their comments and provide feedback concerning the above-referenced policy which has been attached hereto for review.
The public comment period will be open for two weeks. Comments may be submitted in writing via email to Major Kevin Lanni at klanni@providenceri.gov by Friday, July 8, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
