8 centers to open at 1:30pm after severe weather causing power outages
PROVIDENCE, RI – The City of Providence today announced that eight recreation centers will be opening at 1:30pm, earlier than normal operating hours, after a night of severe weather that led to power outages and the closure of Providence Public Schools. Normal programming will be offered to visitors at the following locations:
- Vincent Brown, 438 Hope St. Providence RI 20906
- John H. Rollins, 674 Praire Ave. Providence, RI 02905
- Joslin, 17 Hyatt St. Providence, RI 02909
- Neutaconkanut, 675 Plainfield St. Providence, RI 02909
- West End, 109 Bucklin St. Providence, RI 02907
- Zuccolo, 18 Gesler St. Providence, RI 02909
- Sackett, 159 Sackett St. Providence, RI 02907
- Rogers, 60 Camden Ave., Providence RI 02908
Three recreation centers including Davey Lopes, Pleasant View and Robert F. Kennedy remain without electricity and will be closed for maintenance.
