Join the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park on Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, 2024, for family-friendly fun and special NEW TOTALITY Fulldome planetarium show at 2pm each day as we gear up for the partial solar eclipse on Monday, April 8. Programming is free with Museum admission; Planetarium show tickets must be purchased online.
Eclipse Watch Party at the Museum of Natural History in Roger Williams Park
On Monday, April 8, 2024, the Museum is hosting a FREE watch party for the partial solar eclipse. While Rhode Island is not in the path of totality, it’s close with 90% of the Sun being covered. The eclipse starts at 2:15pm, peaks at 3:29pm and ends at 4:38pm. Visit the Museum of Natural History for family-friendly fun and viewing party. Enjoy hands-on activities and more as we gear up for the main event. Each family visiting on April 8 will receive a FREE pair of eclipse viewing glasses, provided by the NASA Rhode Island Space Grant Consortium. This free community event includes FREE admission to the Museum on Monday, April 8. Visitors may wish to bring chairs or blankets to setup outside during the eclipse.
